ERIC RALPH HOGABOOM, 58, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Saturday,
October 28, 2006 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, MA.
He was born Feb. 29, 1948 in Middletown,CT. He grew up in Cromwell and
Middlefield, CT and moved to Port Charlotte 7 years ago from Connecticut.
He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, U.S. Navy and served in Naval Intelligence.
Eric worked as a sales manager for Planned Furniture Promotions for 28 years. His
Company conducted sales promotions helping retailer on sales promotion and liquidation
Sales in the furniture industry. He traveled all over the United States and Canada and
Was one of the top managers at his company. He was also featured in Furniture Today
Magazine for his achievements. He assisted many clients achieve their financial goals
and was well respected by his coworkers. Eric was a very dynamic person. He loved
“Bling”. He was an avid collector of cars and motorcycles and enjoyed displaying his
collection at car shows. He was a NASCAR fan, loved boating and enjoyed golfing.
He enjoyed life and his exuberant persona gravited people to him. You couldn’t help
liking him. He was a loving son, a well loved brother, and a best friend to many. Eric
will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving family, his mother, Jean (Tuthill) Cassella of Marlborough, CT; four sisters, Gloria Quirk of Bristol, CT, Martha Zajechowski of Stafford Springs, CT, Crystal Kilroy of Mooers, NY, and Kimberly Hogaboom of Missouri; four brothers, James Hogaboom of Port Charlotte, Kevin Cassella of Rocky Hill, CT, John Cassella of Windsor CT and Barnby Beam of Mooers, NY; his fiancé, Peggy Goldman of Port Charlotte; and many nieces, nephews and friends; He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Hogaboom and his wife Eva Hogaboom, and two sisters, Brenda Cassella and Shirley Hogaboom.
