Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing/remembrance on Friday, November 10th, 2023, from 5 – 7 PM at Roberson Funeral Home in Port Charlotte, located at 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida.
The funeral service will be held at Trinity Church of God at 11:00AM and a graveside service will be held at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens, at 1:00PM in Port Charlotte.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Port Charlotte.

Continue Reading Watch Video TributeErnest Nathaniel Dorman, 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on October 18, 2023. Ernest was born on April 12th, 1949, in Spanish Town, Jamaica to the late Joseph Dorman and Emezella Pryce.
Ernest was a graduate of a technical school in Clarendon, Jamaica where learned his trade of welding. He then went on to own a popular welding shop. In addition, he owned and operated a meat shop, which was a staple within his community. Not only was he a skilled businessman, but he was also a guitarist and bass player. He played in multiple bands which toured in his born island of Jamaica. He was a man of many trades: welder, electrician, mechanic and more, which earned him the name “Mr. Fix It.”
He immigrated to New York in 1993, where he lived and worked for 4 years. In 1997, he returned to Jamaica, where he stayed for 7 years before making his journey back to America. He settled in the town of North Port, Florida in 2004. He made a life for himself and his family while working as a tradesman, before transitioning to the school district for 12+ years. He then retired and co-founded a company with his wife, Gertrude. He served his community by helping the outreach ministry where he fed the homeless every Christmas and Thanksgiving. He was the Deacon of his church, Trinity Church of God, in Port Charlotte, Florida. He also played guitar for the Church, and taught Sunday School. He was loved amongst his peers and community.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gertrude E. Dorman of Port Charlotte, Florida, his sons: Ernest A. Dorman and O’Brian Williams; his daughters: Camile Livingston, Christine P. Dorman, Colleen A. Dorman-Focacci, and Kerry Ann Briscoe; his grandchildren, whom all called him “Pops”: Alexia Simmonds, Andario Haylette, Kingston & Mahalia Williams, John W. & Jacoby W. Livingston, and Maxwell Focacci.
