He was born July 23, 1931 in Humacao, Puerto Rico and moved to Port Charlotte 21 years ago from Middletown, New York. Fernando was a chemist for a Quality Control Company for many years in New York. He was the president of the Spanish/American Society in Port Charlotte. He was a great husband and a loving friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Julia Fuentes; two daughters, Zulma Solero of North Port, FL and Mabel Kaplan of Bolder, CO; two sisters, Myrna L. Evanish of North Port, FL and Aida I. Coby of Otisville, NY; a brother, Mario E. Fuentes, Jr. of Puerto Rico; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren
