Fitz G. Bennett, 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Fitz was born to Hubert and Margiana Bennett on October 30, 1928 in Jamaica, West Indies. Fitz loved life to the fullest and will always be remembered by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rachel; his daughter, Jacqueline Bennett; 2 sons, John F. (Carolyn- wife) Bennett and Cavaugh E. (Arlene- wife) Bennett; a sister, Deniesha Williams, step-sisters, Nancy Bullock and Hope Peart; 6 brothers, Donovan and Mark Bennett, Nelson Davy and Frank, Lynford Rose and 1 additional in Jamaica; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Eva Bennett and sister, Augustina Williams.
A visitation will be held 6:00PM-8:00PM, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM, Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4330 Biscayne Drive, North Port, FL 34287. Interment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, Florida.
