Zio Francesco, was the hardest working person I knew. He was determined and dedicated. He tried to stay positive in the up and downs of the restaurant business and put his heart and soul into it. He loved his family with all his heart and treated me as part of it. His son Carlo was my best friend growing up and I spent a lot of time at their house and had many great memories. He had a way of making people feel welcomed and make them laugh. He had an infectious smile, kind and sincere but don’t let that fool you, you didn’t want to get him angry lol. He gave you advice, actually he told you that his way was the only way lol but I always listened. We had no other family in the US. He became good friends with my parents, and was one of few people I considered family other than my parents or siblings. My one regret would be that I regret, was losing touch with him when I left Florida. I’m not very good at that but I would always ask my parents about him and they would tell me how he’s doing. However, I will miss him, but more importantly I will remember all the memories I have of him and how he influenced my life. That smile in the picture about is how I will always remember him. May he rest in peace.
