Francis R. “Bob” Esposito, 75, of Port Charlotte Fla., passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2008 after a lengthy illness at his residence. Born in Mount Holly, NJ and the son of Cecelia and Frank Esposito.
Bob was a member of USAF and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Followed by a civilian career with the US Army in Philadelphia, Pa; US Army Signal School, Monmouth NJ; and retired from HQ First US Army at Fort George G. Meade Maryland.
Bob was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #6253 and the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter #82. He was a member of the American Legion Post 110, Elks Lodge of Port Charlotte, and the Charlotte County Jazz Society. Bob was Past President of the Cedar Brook Volunteer Fire Co. in Winslow Township, NJ.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Alice “Alicia” and his dear son Robert F. Esposito (Debi) of Ohio. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Paul A. Esposito and son Loren F. Esposito. He is survived by family in Virginia, Florida and New Jersey.
He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and the opportunity to participate in a Cultural Exchange in China and relive his days in Japan.
There will be a remembrance gathering for family and friends to celebrate Bob’s life at his residence on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 at 11 AM. Interment and Memorial services will be in New Jersey at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
