Mr. Frank Peter Talboom, Jr., CDR U.S.N., Ret., 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Glastonbury, Connecticut, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte.
Frank was born the only child of Frank P. and Grace (nee – Harlow) Talboom on March 16, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, Frank was accepted to and graduated from Officers Candidate School, and subsequently joined the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Naval Commander. During and after his naval service, Frank worked nearly 40 years for Pratt & Whitney as a Metallurgist. Frank and his wife Nancy moved from their longtime home in Glastonbury, to Port Charlotte in 1995.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy L. (nee – Bond) Talboom; daughters Susan Smith and Lori Talboom; sons Geoffrey and Scott Talboom; and six grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Brian Talboom.
