Franzuel B. Pamittan, M.D., 63, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024. He was born on September 17, 1960, in Faire (Santo Niño), Cagayan, Philippines.
Franzuel was an esteemed physician who dedicated his life to caring for his patients. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a beacon of joy and light to all who knew him. His adventurous spirit, coupled with his infectious laughter, left an unforgettable mark on those around him. A loving husband, devoted father, and cherished son, brother, and friend, Franzuel’s impact on his family and community was immeasurable.
His educational journey took him through Far Eastern University for college and Emilio Aguinaldo College of Medicine, now known as De La Salle University, for medical school. He earned the title of seventh place Top Notcher out of 781 students in the 1988 Philippine Physician Licensure Examination.
After emigrating from the Philippines, Franzuel completed his internal medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, NY. He then met the love of his life, Grace, and had 3 children. He and his family relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida in the year 2000, where he served his community as an Internal Medicine physician for the next 24 years. Forever proud of his Filipino heritage, he also served as President of the Filipino American Society of Port Charlotte from 2007 to 2008.
In his leisure time, Franzuel enjoyed various hobbies, including photography, tennis, golf, motorcycle riding, singing, dancing, and entertaining others with his playful pranks. A devout Catholic, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church was where Franzuel found solace and community in his faith.
Franzuel is survived by his wife Grace, children Frances Grace, Franz Emmanuel, and Franzuel Jr., father, Eusebio, and sister, Maria Angelica. He was preceded in death by his mother, Aniceta.
A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 1:00 PM, March 27th, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 21505 Augusta Avenue, Port Charlotte, Florida 33952. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.

Franzuel was a dear friend from college. Although we were both in the same department, we were pursuing different majors. Him and I, with other college friends would frequently hang out in our house singing and playing guitar; he mostly sang. He was always welcome in our home and my parents treated him like he was family.
Last time I saw him was here in California when he first came to the US. We lost contact for many, many years until recently. We talked about meeting up, but that never happened … and never will. Someday, we will all meet up in a better place.
My prayers are with you and your family that you will quickly and peacefully cope with this loss. My prayers are also with my friend that he may rest with The Father in the garden that is heaven!

We were absolutely shattered to hear this news, our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Grace and the rest of the Pamittan family.
My wife and I both began seeing Doctor Pam after retiring and relocating to Florida over 10 years ago, and what a stroke of luck to find someone so amazingly conscientious and meticulous in his profession. He was simply the finest physician we had ever encountered in our entire lives.
With his welcoming smile along with a chuckle, the first words out of his mouth during an office visit were always, “Hello, how are you my friends!”. Truer words, never spoken... He was just as much a cherished friend as he was our MD.
Never rushed or immediately down-to-business, he was sincerely interested in what was going on in our lives, and the feeling was certainly mutual. Doc was just beginning to take up playing drums, and since I’ve been at it for over 50 years that was just one example of a topic we’d usually discuss for a bit. This super-intelligent man looking for tips from me regarding anything at all was such a humbling experience.
Rest in peace Doc, it was an honor to have known you. Without a moment’s doubt, your irreplaceable spirit will shine on in the hearts of your patients, forever.

An old gentleman I knew said to me do you have a doctor? There is one you only want to see. His name is Pamittam. I was looking for a Doctor Who was not in a factory of MD
So nine years ago I made the first appointment that would take me on a journey with a man and his crew. There was Grace, his dedicated nurse, and wife, who made sure everything went by the book.
There was Darlene his nurse, who always took the time to talk to me to make sure I told the doctor what I needed and how I felt.
But certainly not least there is Sandy. Period. She gave me my appointments to get in and had my next appointment ready when I left. When I called without an appointment, Sandy always said wait a minute and came back to say can you come in now or in an hour. They never was a no to my asking.
But the man who wants to become my doctor, then my friend, and finally like a brother, was Dr. Pam, his gentleness took me by the hand, and all my troubles were soothe and easy to understand and get through. Period. His laughter rang out with a joy to behold, the mark of a good doctor is to know what he doesn’t know and it’s not afraid to say so. Dr. Pam always knew one or two doctors I could go to if he couldn’t do it himself.
Through the years, his kindness and gentleness left the mark on me. But his joy and assumer was like a burst of sunshine. Pam had every element that I came to him with, and threw his empathy always led me to being better than I thought I could.
I can honestly say that I love Dr. Pam as my brother. I am shocked and sad at his illness and passing. Dr. Pam was a man who lived and practiced life with a zest and a passion. I have had many deaths of family and friends, but I will miss Dr. Pam, who has taken the biggest piece of my heart with him.
I am truly saddened by the loss to you and your family. I pray and know that eventually God will get you through this. In the meantime, I love you.

Dr. Pamittan was my physician for 20 years. I trusted him completely. At one point in time he took care of my husband and son as well. He would ask about my son, as I would ask about his family. I thought it was wonderful that he and Grace could work together on a daily basis with such kindness towards one another. I loved him as a doctor and as a person. Dr. Pamittan was always so cheerful and helped us to navigate the complex world of health with his sense of humor, stories, and explanations. No matter what we were experiencing, he was quick with a funny story or anecdote to alleviate our concerns and he took the time to fully explain how it related to life.
It was a pleasure to have known him and we will surely miss him.

We were absolutely shattered to hear this news, our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Grace and the rest of the Pamittan family.
My wife and I both began seeing Doctor Pam after retiring and relocating to Florida over 10 years ago, and what a stroke of luck to find someone so amazingly conscientious and meticulous in his profession. He was simply the finest physician we had ever encountered in our entire lives.
With his welcoming smile along with a chuckle, the first words out of his mouth during an office visit were always, “Hello, how are you my friends!”. Truer words, never spoken... He was just as much a cherished friend as he was our MD.
Never rushed or immediately down-to-business, he was sincerely interested in what was going on in our lives, and the feeling was certainly mutual. Doc was just beginning to take up playing drums, and since I’ve been at it for over 50 years that was just one example of a topic we’d usually discuss for a bit. This super-intelligent man looking for tips from me regarding anything at all was such a humbling experience.
Rest in peace Doc, it was an honor to have known you. Without a moment’s doubt, your irreplaceable spirit will shine on in the hearts of your patients, forever.

An old gentleman I knew said to me do you have a doctor? There is one you only want to see. His name is Pamittam. I was looking for a Doctor Who was not in a factory of MD
So nine years ago I made the first appointment that would take me on a journey with a man and his crew. There was Grace, his dedicated nurse, and wife, who made sure everything went by the book.
There was Darlene his nurse, who always took the time to talk to me to make sure I told the doctor what I needed and how I felt.
But certainly not least there is Sandy. Period. She gave me my appointments to get in and had my next appointment ready when I left. When I called without an appointment, Sandy always said wait a minute and came back to say can you come in now or in an hour. They never was a no to my asking.
But the man who wants to become my doctor, then my friend, and finally like a brother, was Dr. Pam, his gentleness took me by the hand, and all my troubles were soothe and easy to understand and get through. Period. His laughter rang out with a joy to behold, the mark of a good doctor is to know what he doesn’t know and it’s not afraid to say so. Dr. Pam always knew one or two doctors I could go to if he couldn’t do it himself.
Through the years, his kindness and gentleness left the mark on me. But his joy and assumer was like a burst of sunshine. Pam had every element that I came to him with, and threw his empathy always led me to being better than I thought I could.
I can honestly say that I love Dr. Pam as my brother. I am shocked and sad at his illness and passing. Dr. Pam was a man who lived and practiced life with a zest and a passion. I have had many deaths of family and friends, but I will miss Dr. Pam, who has taken the biggest piece of my heart with him.
I am truly saddened by the loss to you and your family. I pray and know that eventually God will get you through this. In the meantime, I love you.

Dr. Pamittan was my physician for 20 years. I trusted him completely. At one point in time he took care of my husband and son as well. He would ask about my son, as I would ask about his family. I thought it was wonderful that he and Grace could work together on a daily basis with such kindness towards one another. I loved him as a doctor and as a person. I will never forget the day that my husband died and I was in the ER as well, Dr. Pamittan was there first thing in the morning to take care of me, ordering all sorts of tests, he was always very thorough. Such a wonderful, compassionate, caring man, and he had a great sense of humor. I can still hear him laughing… I will miss him and pray for Grace and the family.
