Mr. Fritz A. Hausermann, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, November 28, 2010 after a valiant struggle to recover from a broken hip.
Fritz was born in Switzerland on May 17, 1930, the oldest son of Friedrich and Paula Hausermann. He attended schools including Agricultural College in Switzerland, and then relocated to the USA in January 1952. His fiancé Dorli followed 3 months later, and they were married in Hudson NY on April 1952. He and his wife became US Citizens in 1957, as soon as permitted by law.
In order to provide for his wife and young family, he gave up his love of farming and made some drastic career changes. He joined the Equitable Life Assurance Society (now Axa Equitable) as a Sales Associate, in 1955, achieving several Management Positions, earning many honors, including being admitted to the Hall of Fame. Continuing his quest to help clients create better futures for their selves, he expanded into financial planning, adapting to new tools, earning his securities license and mastering the needed computer skills after the age of 50. Fritzes Customers ranged from northern New York State to Long Island, and he deeply cared for their well being, many became his lifelong friends.
At the same time he was a dedicated husband and father, loved fishing with his children, boating and camping on the Hudson River and Lake George NY. He considered all of his grand children a special blessing, grateful to be participating in their growing up years. Due to his precarious health he and his wife relocated from the Mid-Hudson Valley to South Gulf Cove / Port Charlotte in 2006, where he enjoyed his boat the Dutchess as well as serving as Chairman of the Lake Watch program for the South Gulf Cove Home Owners Association.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Dorli; their Sons Walter, Peter and Kenneth, Daughter Maya and husband Jerry Jackson, Grandchildren Peter J. and Katie Jackson, Daniel, Andrew, Luke, Joyce, Christian, Newton and Anna Hausermann, and Great Grandson Logan Jackson as well as his Brother Walter of Switzerland.
