Gail Michael Herron, 68, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Consulate Healthcare of Port Charlotte.
Gail was born October 3, 1951 in Lima, Ohio to the late Joseph and Lucy Herron. He joined the U.S. Air Force on February 1, 1971 and served for 20 years as a Fuels Supervisor. He was blessed to have traveled the world, visiting many beautiful places, including the Philippines where he met his wife, Florencia. After his retirement, he moved with his family to Port Charlotte, FL where he pursued a career as an Automotive Mechanic. He was a wonderful man who loved life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 48 years, Florencia Herron of Port Charlotte; three daughters, Glenda Herron of Dallas, TX, Michelle (James) Giganti of Orlando, FL, JoAnne (Trevor) Henriksson of Orlando, FL; one son, Joseph (Ashley) Herron; seven grandchildren, Wesley (Kayla) Alexander, Alexandria Giganti, Brycen Chance, Ethan Henriksson, Elena Henriksson, Joseph Herron, and Aiden Giganti; one great-grandchild, Ezekiel Alexander; his sister Donna Maddox.
An inurnment with Military Honors by the U. S. Air Force Honor Guard will be held 11:30AM, Friday, June 26, 2020 at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
