Dr. Gary Blayne Jacobs, 73, passed away peacefully in his home In Port Charlotte, Florida, on November 16, 2023. Gary, also known as “Jake,” to friends, was born on May 11, 1950, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Gary grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa, before graduating from the University of Iowa in 1977, where he met his wife, Marianne. Gary obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Services in Des Moines, Iowa in 1980. He was a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman from 1969 to 1973 and was stationed in Guam. He practiced Family and Emergency Medicine for almost 40 years in California, Colorado, Iowa, and Florida.

Gary was an adventurer and loved exploring the outdoors through climbing, sailing, flying, and biking. In his later years, he enjoyed exploring nature with his beloved dog, Chester.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Steve, and sister, Susan. He is survived by his  Loving wife, Marianne, daughter, Alexia, son, Christopher, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held for Gary at his home in Port Charlotte on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 5:00pm.
