Mr. George W. Budin, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Suffern, New York, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, in Port Charlotte.
George was born February 25, 1924 in Manhattan, New York, to the late William and Michelena (nee – Melnik) Budin. A veteran of World War II, U.S. Army, George worked for the New York Telephone Company 43 years. Following his retirement as district manager for New York Telephone, George left his native New York for Port Charlotte in 1984. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, the Telephone Pioneers of America, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.), and was a Past President of the Charlotte County Soccer Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosalba A. Budin, and his children; sons Michael A. (Courtney) Budin of Tampa, FL, and David Budin of Margaretville, NY; daughters Michelle M. Budin of Port Charlotte, FL, and Anne Budin of Albany, NY; and grandchildren, Christine and John Budin, both of NY.
