Gerard Robert Dean, 69, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at his home in Punta Gorda.

Gerard was born on April 28, 1957, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Frederick Stanley Dean, and Carolyn Elizabeth (Wiczulis) Dean. Following graduation from high school, Gerard entered military service, joining the U.S. Army. Following his return to civilian life, he eventually went to work for an insurance company, spending some 20 years with the company before retiring due to health issues.

While Gerard had never married and had no children, he is survived by a large family, including nine surviving siblings. Five sisters, Marsha Moshaer, Andrea Sobczak, Carol Marsha, Tina Lonsway Donald, and Janet Hall, and four brothers, Carl Wiczulis, Jerry Dean, Kenny Dean, and Rodney Dean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Dean.

A private committal will be held for Gerard at a later date. No public services are planned at this time.
