Hamilton M. Medina, 61, of Rotonda West, Fla., died Friday, April 17, 2009 at home.
He was born September 5, 1947 in Puerto Rico and moved to Rotonda West from Glassboro, N.J. in 2002.
Hamilton was a retired cable splicer for Verizon Telephone Co. He was a member of the Suncoast Worship Center Church of God of Englewood, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survived by his wife, Maria Medina of Rotonda West; two daughters, Melanie Baker of Tallahassee, Fla., and Stephanie Bailey of Raleigh, N.C.; three sisters, Evelyn Medina, Yvonne Ramirez, both of Puerto Rico and Enyd Medina of Rhode Island; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Julian, Christine, Lisa, Terrell, Jr., Angelysa and Gregory Jr.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time, 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 atthe Suncoast Worship Center Church of God, 881 S. River Road, Englewood, FL 34223. The Rev. Phillip Williams will officiate. Interment with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow Wed. 2:30 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fla.
