‘There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains.’
Harry A. Hue, 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida died peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Port Charlotte, a loving father, brother, cousin, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.
Harry was born in Jamaica, West Indies to his parents Phillip Hue and Ida Mae (Scott) Alladice. Harry later married Alma the love of his life on August 25,1957. They would then immigrate to New York with their four children until relocating to Port Charlotte after thirty-seven years. Harry went on to work at Fawcett Memorial Hospital until he retiring after 23 years of supporting his team. Never one to sit idle, Harry then continued as a hospital volunteer until most recently.
In his free time, one could find Harry tending to his impeccable yard and garden or tinkering with something needing that ‘McGyver’ touch. He was an avid golf (Tiger) fan, family man and that individual who always made time to stop to learn your name and have a conversation. Although he was never one to stand in the spotlight, Harry will be missed by all but not forgotten.
Harry is preceded by his loving wife of 52 years, Alma who he now joins at their heavenly table. He was beloved and celebrated by his children Marcia (husband John Russell) Robinson of Waltham, MA, Katherine (husband Paul) O’Brien of Scottsdale, AZ and Sheron (husband Kevin) Curtin of Oak Harbor, WA; son, Phillip (former wife Michelle Reynolds) Hue of Port Charlotte, FL; sister Joyce Alladice of London, England, brother, Jimmy Hue of The Villages, FL; sister, Rosemarie Lasalla of Atlantic Beach, NY ; ten grandchildren, Melissa (husband Mark) Hue Walsh, Michael (wife Jamie) Curtin, Phillip Hue, Jr., Ashley Hue, Steven Curtin, Joshua Robinson, Valerie (husband Keith) Kelley, Gregory (wife Erica) Mitrano, Natasha Hue and Phillip Hue III; six great grandchildren, Brendan Curtin, Garrett Curtin, Paxton Curtin, Grayson Curtin, Christian Kelley, and Emerson Kelley.
