Helen was born October 31, 1927 and moved to Port Charlotte 35 years ago from Annapolis, Maryland. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Punta Gorda Chapter 777 for many years. Helen was the former owner of C & H Accounting in Port Charlotte. She will be recognized as a woman who gave her all to help others in need. She loved her grandchildren and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol L (Bill) Gard of Punta Gorda, FL; her grandchildren, Billy Gard and Scott Birchfield of Punta Gorda, FL and Kerri (Billy) Branscomb of Jacksonville, FL; and great-grandchild, Tyler Birchfield of Jacksonville, FL; a niece, Shirley Owens of Baltimore, MD; two nephews, Charles Smith of Westover, MD and Sheldon Smith of Iva, SC; her close friends, Diana Lee and Brenda Stevens of Port Charlotte, FL. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Kirby.
