Helen L. Simonis, 95, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died peacefully Friday, December 23, 2011 at home.
Helen retired after 25 years at Raytheon Co. in Waltham, Massachusetts, moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 1992 from her home in Whitman, Massachusetts. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Port Charlotte. Helen will be greatly missed by her loving family.
She is survived by two daughters, Sister Judith Simonis and Mrs. Lucy Allen both of Port Charlotte; a son, Deacon John (Betsy) Simonis of Falmouth, MA; six grandchildren, Cathy (Chris) Feroli of Falmouth, MA, Caroline (Jeffrey) Rogers of Blue Springs, MO, Brenda (John) Froio of Middleboro, MA, Timmy (Katsumi) Simonis, Debby Jones, and Julie (Darko) Bozinovic all of Englewood, FL; 14 great grandchildren, CJ, Michaela, Noah John, Caitlin, John Matthew, T.J., Audrey, David, Thomas, Jessica, Timmy, Jr., Sarah, Noah James and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Simonis, Sr., son Thomas Simonis, Jr. and son-in-law Billie Allen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 21505 Augusta Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Private committal and interment will be at a later date. A reception for family and friends will follow at 12:30 PM at Promenades West Club House at 3006 Caring Way, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
