She was born March 11, 1934 in the Republic of Suriname to the late Anton and Hilda Sanches. Helena moved to Port Charlotte in 1996 from Suriname, South America with her Husband, Geurt C. Peet, Sr. who died in August, 2018.
She is survived by her loving family, sons, Tony Peet of Port Charlotte, Hans C. Peet of Port Charlotte, Geurt C. Peet, Jr. of Punta Gorda,FL and Leo C. Peet of Miami, FL; sisters, Josephine Maria Nieuwenhuis and Edith Veer; a brother, Leonardis Fredericus Sanches; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Memorial service will be held Friday 11:00 AM Jan. 4, 2019 at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33948
