Herald L. Spisak, 90, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in Port Charlotte Sunday, February 16, 2014.
Born on August 25, 1923 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the late Louis and Elizabeth Spisak, Herald, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired owner and operator of a private Sanitation company, moved from his longtime home of Fairfield, CT to Port Charlotte in late 2005. Herald was a Charter member of the B.P.O. Elk’s Lodge No.2220, and member of the Loyal Order of Moose, and V.F.W., all of Fairfield.
Herald is survived by his children, son Stephen H. Spisak of Port Charlotte; daughters, Theresa L. Rainville of Port Charlotte, and Linda (Hsb. Joseph) Matthews, Jr. of Stratford, CT; seven grandchildren, Nichole, Stephen, Joy, Joseph III, Amanda, Scott and Elizabeth; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Herald was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters, and his beloved wife of 40 years, Theresa “Mitzi” Spisak.
A Memorial service and committal will be held in Fairfield, CT. at a later date.
