Herminetta A. Wright, 75, affectionately known as “Winsome,” of Port Charlotte, Florida, entered her eternal rest on February 6, 2026, with the same quiet grace that defined her life. Born on March 26, 1950, in Ben Lomond, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to the late Esther and Ruel Cole, Herminetta walked through this world with a gentle spirit, touching lives in ways that will never be forgotten.
Her faith was not merely spoken. It was lived. Every day, she carried herself with humility, compassion, and unwavering trust in God’s promises. She faithfully served at Trinity Community Church of God, offering her time, gifts, and heart to ministry and community work. To her, every act of service was an offering to the Lord. Family and friends often found comfort in her wisdom, encouragement, and steady reminders of God’s goodness, even in life’s most difficult seasons. Her presence was a blessing, her prayers a covering, and her love a legacy.
Herminetta was the Medical Records supervisor at Charlotte Correctional Institution in Punta Gorda, where she served faithfully for more than twenty years.
She found joy in caring for others through her cooking and time spent tending to her yard and garden. Her grandchildren, Kyliah, Kamiah, and Uriah, were her pride and joy, and she treasured the time she shared with them.
Herminetta is survived by her sons, Sean Charles Wright (Taylor) and Stephan Norman Wright; her three grandchildren; her sisters Urseline McPherson, Nerissa Cole-Grant, Eva Cole, and Valarie Cole; her brothers Edson Cole, Vincent Cole, Winston Cole, and Dave Cole; and many dear nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, friends, and extended family members who will forever cherish the love, prayers, and spiritual foundation she imparted.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Norman Wright, with whom she shared a devoted marriage of nearly thirty-one years.
Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing that Herminetta now rests in the fullness of God’s glory, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, only peace everlasting.
We take comfort in the words of Scripture: “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:21, 23)
