Howard F. Van Pelt, 95, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away April 21, 2014 in Port Charlotte. He was born October 10, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Charlotte County in 1976 from Cobb Island, MD. Howard was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy. He was a retired industrial specialist for the United States federal government.
Survived by his loving wife Humda M. Van Pelt of Port Charlotte; two grandchildren, Nelson D. Van Pelt and Frank J. Van Pelt; daughter in law, Jo Ann Bentley of Tennessee; a brother Ralph Van Pelt of Colonial Beach, VA;
A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 beginning at 2:00 PM with a Funeral service celebrating his life at 3:00 PM at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel. 1380 Forest Nelson Blvd. Port Charlotte, Fl. 3394. Entombment and Navy military honors will follow.
