JAMES (JIMMY) JAY BARTMAN, JR., 21, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, February 19, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident in Jacksonville, FL
He was born March 16, 1987 at St. Joseph Hospital in Port Charlotte and was a
graduate of Charlotte High School Class of 2004 cum lade. He enjoyed music, played the piano and all of the percussion instruments. Jimmy was a member of the Charlotte High School Honor Band. In June 2004 he traveled all over the U.S. with the Kiwanis Kavaliers Drum Corps. He graduated from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL in May of 2008 as an Aeronautical Engineer. While in college he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and was President during his senior year.
Jimmy was baptized in the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church where he was a member and had been active all of his young life. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is gone but will not be forgotten.
Jimmy is survived by his parents, James Jay and Patricia Bartman, two sisters, Johanna and Judy Bartman, and a brother, Joshua Bartman all of Clarksville, TN; paternal grandmother, Rose Bartman Yienger and step paternal grandfather, Don Yienger both of Port Charlotte; maternal grandmother, Pat Sagendorf of Port Charlotte; his girlfriend, Molly Patton of Port Charlotte; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James A. Bartman and Richard J. Sagendorf.
