James J. Conlon, 87, of Port Charlotte and formally of Rotonda West, Florida passed away, Saturday April 10, 2010 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte. He was born June 24, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Rotonda West 26 yrs. ago from there. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army. James was a retired Asst. Chief Electrical inspector for the City of Chicago. Member of US Coast Guard Auxiliary, VFW Post #1152, Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge # 2710 all of Rotonda West, and former member of St. Francis of Assisi of Englewood. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who will be missed but, not forgotten.
Survived a sister, Rosemary Conlon of Adrian, MI;A step son, Al Harttung of Ingleside, IL; two step daughters, Georgene Lauermann of Buffalo, NY,And Betty Lou Thomas and son in law, Perry Thomas of Punta Gorda; nine grandchildren and thirteen Great grandchildren; Preceeded by his parents, wife, Frances Conlon, a brother, William Conlin;
There will be a viewing from Wed. April 14, 2010 9:30am to 10:30 am at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borroemo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte 11:00 am Wed. April 14, 2010.
