James Howard Buckey, Jr., 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Port Charlotte Rehabilitation Center.
Jim was born August 13, 1943 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Col. James Howard Buckey, Sr., U.S. Air Force, retired and Ellen Stone Buckey. He moved to Florida 20 years ago from Pennsylvania. During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Army National Guard of Pennsylvania. Jim was a retired sales manager for Arcadia Chevrolet, Arcadia, Florida.
Jim is survived by his loving family, his wife, Cynthia R. Buckey of Coolidge, AZ; a son, Robert Buckey and his wife, Crystal Messer of San Tan Valley, AZ; two sisters, Lyn (husband, John) Johnson and Mary (husband-Harry) Karns both of Pennsylvania; a brother, Lt. Col. Kerry (wife-Sandy) Buckey, U.S. Army, retired of Colorado; 10 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services and interment will be held at a later date in Arizona.
