James Joseph Laba, 75, of North Port, Florida died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Florida.
Jim was born June 27, 1942 in Colfax, Michigan to the late Henry and Laurene Laba. He was a retired manager for the Chrysler Corporation. He was a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, the Loyal Order of the Moose and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 49 years, Pamela J. Laba of North Port; a daughter, Nicole Schweninger and husband, Mike of Clio, MI; and 5 grandchildren, Michael J., Parker, Andrea, Allison and Adrian.
Memorial services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, December 2, 2017 at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33949. Interment with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be held later at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
