James Addison Parks, 81, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Friday, July 20, 2007
at his home.
He was born May 23, 1926 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and moved to
Punta Gorda in 1993 from Westlake, Ohio He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre, where he witnessed the first flag raising at Iwo Jima. He was an insurance agent with State Farm Insurance for over 32 years before retiring
to Punta Gorda. Member of Faith Lutheran Church of Punta Gorda and American Legion Post # 110 of Port Charlotte;
Survived by his beloved wife of 55 yrs., Amanda A. Parks of Punta Gorda;
two sons, Carey J. Parks (Wife- Ruth) of Cape Coral, FL. and David A. Parks (Wife- Deborah) of Olmsted Township, OH; a sister, Jean E. Kashary of Westlake, OH;
three grandchildren, Amanda Grace Parks, David A. Parks, Jr., Katelyn Marie Parks;
a sister in law, June Parks; five nephews, Robert Kashary, Chris Kashary, Jeffrey Parks, Gregory Parks and Timothy Parks; a niece, Susan Sosko; an aunt, Esther Tyma; Preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Jane Parks, a brother, Harvey J. Parks.
