James A. Streifel, 70, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 at his home in Port Charlotte.

James was born to Nicholas and Annie Streifel on October 17, 1942 in British Columbia, Canada and moved to Port Charlotte in 12 years from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. James was a catholic man who enjoyed life to the fullest but most of all his family and friends. He will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Nivia Streifel; his son, James (Kateri) Streifel of Naugatuck, CT; 2 daughters, Tracy Onze of Englewood, FL and Cathy Martinez of Port Charlotte; brothers and sisters, Bill (Roberta) Streifel, Helen Otway, Ernie (Joan) Streifel, Leona Auftring and Jo-Ann (Larry) Ursic all of Canada, 2 sisters in law, Mary Streifel and Gaylean Streifel both of Canada; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00AM, Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family.
