Mr. James L. Wiedenman, 81, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Newark, Delaware, passed away Tuesday night, March 17, 2009 at the Douglas T. Jacobson State Veteran’s Home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Born on November 22, 1927 in Akron, Ohio, James, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired Exxon Corporation employee, lived in Newark, Delaware until relocating briefly to North Carolina, then eventually North Port in 2002.
James is survived by his beloved children; daughter, Denise C. (husband Jeffrey) Butler of Punta Gorda, FL, and son, Erik (wife Susan) Wiedenman of Apex, NC; six grandchildren, Jessica (husband Michael) Nixon, Nathan (wife Jenelle) Clark, Sarah (husband David) Musgrove, Ryan, Megan and Erin Wiedenman; six great grandchildren, Connor Nixon, Nathan Clark, Jr., Aiden Musgrove, Haley and Fischer Clark, and Davis Musgrove; a brother, Russell Wiedenman of Bear, DE, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Margaret (nee-Gibbons) Wiedenman and a brother, Howard Wiedenman; a son, Louis Wiedenman, and on February 15th of this year, his beloved wife of 59 years, Nora L. Wiedenman.
