Jeanne was born October 4, 1937, in Bloomington, Illinois to the late Peter and Jennie (Vranken) Mahan. She moved to Port Charlotte in 1965 from Bloomington and held secretarial positions at Charlotte High School, St. Joseph Hospital, Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, and lastly retired as medical administrator for a radiology practice. She was a long time member of the Port Charlotte Methodist Church, volunteering in many aspects.
Jeanne was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, often entertaining family and friends and spoiling them with her talents of specialty cakes, painting and sewing.
Survived by three daughters, Julie (Lee) Deering of Jacksonville, FL, Lori Bootz of Gainesville, FL, and Pamela (Donald) Newberry of Punta Gorda, FL; a son, Steven (Dawn) Alsene of Winter Garden, FL; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Alsene, who died in 2021.
