JEFFREY PETER KLEIN, 47, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at home.

He was born September 5, 1968 in Huntington, New York and moved to Port Charlotte in 1984 with his late mother, Carol D. (nee: Berger) Klein who died in 2006. Jeffrey was a graduate of Charlotte Harbor School and Charlotte High School Class of 1991. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Port Charlotte, where he assisted his grandmother working on quilts for Lutheran World Relief. He participated in the STAR program for many years and in many Special Olympics events at the local and state level. Because of his interest in trains he was always introduced as the “Engineer” at swimming meets.

He is survived by his loving family, his grandmother, Winifred E. Berger of Port Charlotte and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday 2:00 PM, July 11, 2016 at Restlawn Chapel. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2665 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
