Jerry K. Young, 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Jerry retired after 36 years of service from Caterpillar.

He is survived by his wife Cindy Young of Punta Gorda, FL; son Mike (Brenda) Young of Pekin, IL; daughters Melody Lee of FL, and Jody Johnson of Peoria, IL; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. My wife Marg and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Jerry and Cindy when we lived in Sao Paulo. Jerry was so enthusiastic, and always had a smile on his face. We lived in the same apartment complex and had dinner together quite often. One time Jerry convinced us to join them for a weekend that involved horseback riding. We struggled to keep up with Jerry, and I bounced around so much that I wore the skin off my you know what. When I hear someone described as having a "real gusto for life", I think of Jerry.

Cindy, We loved listening to his stories! We also loved him! We will remember him always! You are always welcome here. Let us know if we can help in anyway.
