He was born in Camden, New Jersey on July 19, 1922, to the late Ellwood and Alma Keller. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 15 years old, and during most of his adult life he served the Lord. He served proudly in the United States Army during World War II for four years in the Medical Corp. As a civilian once more, he eventually became an engineer for Taylor Precision Products, formerly Taylor Instruments for the professional market. Jesse and his wife Herta I. (nee – Messinger) Keller, retired to Port Charlotte from their longtime home of Rochester, New York in 1984. He remained active however in his new community, working for many years with Enterprise Rental Cars, and as a member of the Tri City Baptist Church in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his loving wife Herta of 67 years. A brother Howard Keller, two daughters, Mary Felty and Joan Solomon, three grand children and nine great-grandchildren.
Viewing and Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Tri City Baptist Church at 24058 Heritage Place in Port Charlotte. Viewing will be from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. with Funeral Service beginning at 1:30 P.M. Pastor Jay Sheppard of Tri City Baptist, will officiate. Burial with Military Honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Port Charlotte.
Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Homes, Port Charlotte Chapel.
