Jesse Leroy Parsons, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Tuesday,
January 30, 2007 at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care in Port Charlotte.
He was born February 26, 1918 in Fancy Prairie, Illinois and has been wintering in Port Charlotte for 22 years and in the summers in Park Rapids, MN. He was a professor of Micro Biology at the State University in North Dakota and Moorhead University in MN before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II serving in U.S. Navy. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Port Charlotte, former member of Punta Gorda Country Club, Head Waters Country Club, Park Rapids, MN and American Society of Sciences. He was a gymnast, avid hunter, fisherman, naturalist, and golfer.
Survived by his loving wife of 35 yrs. Pearle G. Parsons of Port Charlotte;
Two daughters Linda (Robert) Hendrickson of State College, PA. and Rebecca Parsons of Bend, OR; a son, David (Linda) Parsons of Andover, MN: a step-daughter,
Anne(David )Cremons of North Oaks, MN: a step son, Lindsay (Melinda) Northern of Boise, ID; two brothers, Russell Parsons of Wedowee, AL and Gaylord Parsons of Greenwood, SC; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
