Joan C. Esposito, 85 of Port Charlotte, FL and Glassboro NJ, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024. She was born December 28, 1938 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, the only cherished child of Betty Tetanski Barth. Joan grew up surrounded by many close cousins, especially her cousin Marie McCormick, who was more like a sister to Joan. When Joan was a teenager, she met the love of her life, John Esposito. It was love at first sight, and he proposed to her on their first date. John used to joke that he was only kidding when he proposed, but they ended up getting married after a short courtship, and they enjoyed more than 60 years of wedded bliss.
Family was always Joan’s top priority. Whenever a family member was in need, Joan graciously opened her heart and home to them. She had the most understanding heart and saw the best in everyone. She was always compassionate, caring, loyal, and supportive of her family and many friends.
After the death of her beloved husband, Joan relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida. She loved her Florida community and many dear friends and would often say she couldn’t have found a better community. Joan was fearless in the face of death, until the end, sustained by her deep faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ. Joan touched so many lives with her warm and giving heart. Her legacy will live on through her family. She is loved and will be missed and remain in our hearts forever.
She was the beloved wife of the late John L. Esposito. Devoted mother of Donna McFadyen (Michael) and John Esposito (Jennifer). Loving grandmother of Amanda Sagusti (Vlad), the late Laura Sagusti, Louis Esposito (Ashley), and Alexandra Esposito. Proud great grandmother of Luciana, Alana, and Anthony. Dear sister-in-law of Elaine Hughes (Stuart) and many other beloved cousins and relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.
Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.
