Mr. John J. (Jack) Cobb, 76, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Wednesday morning, February 18, 2009 at his residence.
Born on September 1, 1932 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Walter A. and Ida D. Cobb, Jack, a former credit manager for ARA Services, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA, retired and relocated from his long time home of Philadelphia to Port Charlotte in 1997. He was a veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Army, member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2153, both in Port Charlotte. Jack will be remembered forever in our hearts and mind as a devoted husband and father of six, grandfather, and brother.
Jack is survived by his beloved children; four sons, John J. Cobb, Jr. of Marco Island, FL, Paul M. Cobb of Maple Shade, NJ, James S. Cobb of Southampton, PA, and Mark A. Cobb of Perkiomenville, PA; a daughter, Cathleen C. Greeney of North Port, FL; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Bens of Livermore, CA and Roslyn Calcavecchia of Plantation, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Walter, a grandson, and his beloved wife, Roberta A. (Bobbie) Cobb. In the wake of his death, less than a day later, a daughter, Denise passed away, on Thursday, February 19, 2009.
