JOHN M. CRANFORD, 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away at residence
Sunday, October 5, 2008.
He was born May 1, 1934 in Washington, D.C. and moved to North Port, Florida
In 1991 from Bowie, Maryland and then to Port Charlotte in 2002. John was a retired
Data Processing Manager for Kiplinger Washington Editors and a member of St. Antonio
Catholic Church of Port Charlotte. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survived by his loving family, his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Morris Cranford of Port Charlotte; two daughters, Susan M. (Patrick) Mackey of Bradenton, FL and Teresa (Kevin) Herren of Lusby, MD; a son, Michael (Kelley) Cranford of Middletown, VA;
7 sisters, Marie Chaney of Bridgeville, DE, Delores Drake of St. Leonard, MD, Joan Fittro of Ocala, FL, Barbara Fraser of Lusby, MD, Catherine Dressier of Ocala, FL, Carolyn Drummond of Fort Myers, FL, and Diana Diana of Brandywine, MD; two brothers, Carl Cranford of North Port, FL and Charles Cranford of Boynton Beach, FL; Six grandchildren, Erin Mackey, Elizabeth Cranford, Jennifer Mackey, Benjamin Cranford, Sarah Mackey and Megan Herren; and many nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Cranford, a sister, Mary Brown and two brothers, Joseph and William Cranford.
