He was born December 6, 2008 in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Port Charlotte in 1981 from Dearborn, where he had lived for 50 years. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the 876th Airborne Engineer Aviation Battalion US Army. He was a retired building inspector supervisor for the city of Dearborn, MI. He was a life member of the Moose Lodge in Dearborn, member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 110, Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club all of Port Charlotte and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte. Survived by his wife, Claire Prince Kemp of Port Charlotte; a son, James C. (wife-Sandra)Kemp of Englewood, FL; a granddaughter, Vanessa Kemp of Englewood; a great granddaughter, Krystal Skudlarek of Englewood; two nieces and one nephew. Preceded in death by his first wife, Alice M. Kemp.
