He was born April 1, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Port Charlotte
In 1990 from New York and then moved to North Port in 1997. He was a retired foreman for the New York City Sanitation Dept., New York, NY. Member of St.
Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church of Port Charlotte, member of American Legion Post
#110 of Port Charlotte and a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ruth Wessels Short of North Port;
a son, John Short of Venice, FL; two sisters, Marion Marino of Port Charlotte and
Alice Hallock of Cortez, CO: 2 grandchildren Brian and John Short.
