John was born December 11, 1925 in Belleville, New Jersey and moved to Lake Suzy 5 years ago from Punta Gorda, Florida. John was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. John was a member of the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 2606 of Punta Gorda and the Port Charlotte Golf Club. Jack loved playing golf twice a week and was very fond of all of his friends including hanging out with his neighbor buddies every evening at 7pm. He enjoyed all of the wonderful meals he had with special friends. Jack had a wonderful career in the baking industry with such companies as Nabisco, Keebler, Mother’s Cake and Cookie Company, Kellogg’s, Anheuser-Busch, and Werner Lehara; a bakery machinery manufacturing company. He also worked in many countries around the world. Jack developed the first frozen cookies on the market as well as other cookies, crackers and snacks. Jack was a very special person and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lee Simoneau; a son, John J. (Bunny) Simoneau, III of North Carolina; three stepsons, Rick Goss of Albuquerque, NM, Cal Goss of Michigan and James Goss of Brandon, FL; a daughter, Janet (John) Shantzenbach of NC; two stepdaughters, Michele Goss of Grand Rapids, MI and Melissa (Ed) Flanagan of Lawrenceville, GA; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Judy Kuhar.
