Jose was born July 10, 1937 in Camuy, Puerto Rico and moved to Florida
in 1996 from Syracuse, New York. He retired as a truck driver from Exxon Oil Co. and was currently working for the Lee County School System as a bus driver. Jose was of the Catholic faith and a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survived by his wife, Maria M. Pagan of Lehigh Acres, FL; 4 daughters,
Maria Acevedo of St. Petersburg, FL; Evelyn Torres of Englewood, FL, Diana
Butler of Syracuse, NY; and Joanne Acevedo of Maryland; three sons, Jose L.
Acevedo, Jr. of Port Charlotte; Jose A. Acevedo of North Port, FL and Jose M.
Acevedo of Lehigh Acres; 4 brothers and 5 sisters, numerous grandchildren,
great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
