Joseph Durcé Aristide was born on December 22, 1939, to Dieudonne Estimé and Phénicien Aristide in his beloved Haiti. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the age of 82.

After immigrating to United States, Joseph worked hard as a taxicab driver in New York City to care for his family. Then he purchased property in New Jersey where successfully managed multiple units as a landlord. In 2003, he then retired to North Port, Florida.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents Dieudonne and Phénicien and his two sisters Immacula Kénol and Carméne St. Pierre. He is survived by his wife Étude Jérome as well as the following beloved family members to whom he is:

• Loving father of Nadine (Michoue) Aristide, Marie U. Aristide-Metellus, and Joanne Petit-Homme.
• Cherished grandfather to Jeffrey, Marlon, Joshua, Malcolm, and Isabelle.
• Father-in-law to Marcel Metellus and Ivens Petit-Homme.
• Uncle to Mike St. Pierre, Wancita Estimé, Ernst Nicolas Kenol and Alan Estimé.

Joseph is also survived by his brother Hyrounce Estimé along with his wife Olga Estimé, and sister Marie Marthe Aristide in addition to a host of dear cousins, including the Pierre and Aristide families.

His memory will be cherished by all who interacted with him and loved him dearly.  Joseph was a spiritual man and truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like chatting with friends and family. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

The Home Going activities are being held for our beloved Joseph D. Aristide on Saturday, December 17, 2022, with visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM at: Eben-Ezer Haitian Baptist Church of Port Charlotte 17195 Oakleaf Ave, Port Charlotte, FL 33953.

His interment will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens located at: 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd. Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
