JOSEPH I. RUSSELL, 93, of Port Charlotte, Florida and former resident of Punta Gorda, Florida died Monday July 1, 2013 at Peace River Regional Medical Center, Port Charlotte.

Joseph was born May 1, 1920 in Leonardtown, Maryland to the late John and Lilly Russell and moved to Charlotte County from Maryland in 1985. He was a retired gas company manager and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Punta Gorda.

He is survived by his loving family, a daughter, Cheryl R. Scheid of Cordova, TN; three sons, Joseph I. Russell, Jr. of Leonardtown, MD, Gregory Russell of Clements, MD and Jeffrey Russell of Washington, D.C.; and 9 grandchildren.
