Julio Livio Alfama Oliveira aka Julio with a “J”.
Julio informed his family, who were by his side, he was flying on a jet with an Angel by his side and left on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Born in Portugal on December 10, 1044, Julio immigrated with his family thru Ellis Island when he was 18 months old. His family lived in Fairhaven, MA where Julio attended the Fairhaven public schools and graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1965. He attended Cape Cod Community College where he majored in Business. Julio was the son of the late Leopold & Laura Oliveira and brother of the late: Leopold Jr., John, Walter, Valentino, Lucio, Edwardo, and Henry. He is survived by his brother August (Arlene) of Wells Maine. Julio loved the sisters he gained through his brother’s marriages, Claire, Rita, and Aggie.
Julio married the love of his life “His Barbie” on June 20, 1970, and became the father to a son Duane and a daughter Keri. With Duane and Keri’s marriages, Julio became Dad to Tracey and Brian. Julio’s favorite title was “Papa” which he received from Jarred and Royal. With the marriage to his “Barbie” he gained a brother Peter Davis with “His Southern Bell” Dottie, a very special sister Brenda (Joe) McLaughlin, along with sisters Janice Emerson and Marilyn Askew. Coming from a large family, Julio leaves his love and adoration for his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Julio worked for Brunswick Corporation managing bowling centers for many years but his love for the outdoors led him to his work in construction, home improvement and in the end substation electrical work. He loved being outdoors and puttering around his home and in his yard. Julio was a man of strong faith and of strong family values. Julio was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, a Member of the Men’s Emmaus Team, and a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus where he was also a Member of the Knights Color Corps.
A Celebration of Julio’s Life will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church at 1441 Spear Street, Port Charlotte FL on May 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the St. Maximilian Kolbe Memorial Garden following the Celebration. In lieu of flowers the family ask if you would consider making a donation to either: Tidewell Hospice Inc. or the St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church Knights of Columbus Council # 11483 in Port Charlotte.
