I wish to honor the memory of Professor June Bruce Stark. Professor Stark was more than just an educator; she was a source of inspiration. Her most impactful words, “Why not you? Try it again,” continue to echo in my mind. I am eternally grateful for her unwavering dedication in coaching me beyond office hours, even as others hurriedly exited the door. My learning stemmed not from the depth of her knowledge, but from the breadth of her compassion. To Nicki, Dr. Gary, and Mary, your mother was not merely an extraordinary individual, but also a beacon of guidance who led us to a new path.

Dear Family of June Stark, Please accept my warmest and sincerest condolences at the passing of a most wonderful, amazing, and loving woman--your mother. She and I worked together at KCC in the 80's before she retired, and during that time she made a tremendous, positive impact on my life. I always felt that June exuded the higher power, was grounded and wise, and strong as ever. I was in my twenties--seeking to find the meaning of life and was not confident. She would often tell me "Cheryl--assert yourself!" At that time I was involved in self-help and PSI Seminars, and she supported me in taking time off to go and "find myself." Under her influence and with her support, I became stronger, more centered and able to accept my worthiness. She supported me in all the many changes in my life as a friend and like a mother, and I admired her as someone who I aspired to be. Thinking about our history brings me to tears. I am so very grateful that the Universe brought us together. I believe that in my next life I will see her again...the special lady who reminds me so much of Louise Hay because of her positivity. She will be missed! God bless, Cheryl Fujii

Hi Nicki, Very sorry to read this today. Your Mom was always recognizable by being a very sharp dresser and the bright red hair. She is probably the only mom I can remember from our high school years. My Mom, Thelma Satterfield Myers, is still going strong at 93 and having dinner with her tomorrow for Thanksgiving which she is fixing. When we have these family dinners, it is always a good time to cherish our family memories. Many blessings to your family. Dan Fitzgerald

Ann and Mary, I want to tell you how much your mom meant to me. She was my first mentor, and her guidance over the years was always so valuable and loving. And I know I'm not the only one who benefitted from June's influence because wherever she was, she was always helping someone. Even though we didn't see one another in recent years, we always stayed in touch. I will miss her and I know you will too. Sending love to you and yours from Chicago. Patty Tucker-Ladd

June had such a profound impact on my teaching career. As a beginning teacher in Charleston in the 1970s, I was included in a carload of teachers she drove to Champaign daily, for a month long Gifted Institute she led. She was an amazing person!!! I send my condolences to her family.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
