Karen was born July 27, 1954 in Tyler, Texas and moved to North Port 12 years ago from Edmond, Oklahoma. She was a member of Murdock Baptist Church for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will always be remembered by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Mark Hardin; 3 daughters, Sarah (Chris) Miller of Ft. Myers, FL, Katie (Justin) Box of North Port, FL and Rebecca Hardin of North Port, FL; her father, Lewis Hood of North Port, her brother, Larry Hood of Tyler, TX and 4 wonderful grandchildren, Logan Miller, Jack Miller, Grayson Box and Hadley Box. She is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Jeter Hood, and her brother Van Hood.
Visitation will be 5:00PM-8:00PM, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Murdock Baptist Church, 18375 Cochran Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL 33948. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Young Life Greater Charlotte County Campers Scholarship, 2559 N. Toledo Blade Blvd. Suite #2 North Port, FL 34289.

Just wanted to say that Karen was one of the nicest people we had ever met. Every time we would come into her Insurance Agency we would always end up talking for an hour or two about family and other things. I am heart broken to learn of Karen's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her as we hung out in the front yard on larkspur. She always had a smile on her face and deeply loved her family. My thoughts and prayers go out to Karen's family. Karen was my sorority big sister back in 1973 and 1974. She was just a girl then, but so sweet and so pretty.
