Kay L. Hunter, born June 24, 1973, shed her earthly body on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimers.
She is reunited in Heaven with her parents Joan D. Frantz Hunter and Richard John Hunter, Aunt Vivian, Aunt Kay(George) Thompson, Uncles Bob and Jimmy Frantz. She is survived by her brother Shawn, sister Holly (Mike) Vida, sister Flo Hunter, Aunt Dianne(Jimmy) Frantz, Aunt Dianne (Bobby) Frantz, Aunt Judy and Uncle Phil Frantz, nieces LIz and Amanda and their families, many cousins and friends.
Special thanks to Cynthia and Joe Logan, Beth Hunter, Barb Dempsey, Janet Jones, Denise, Errington, Kendra, everyone at Capricorn and Aster day programs, Tidewell Hospice and all friends and family who have been so supportive during Kay’s final days.
She was of the Baptist faith and graduated from Charlotte Harbor School. She attended New Visions and Janet Jones Group Home day program. She retired after working 30 years at Pulsafeeder, a water pump factory in Punta Gorda. She enjoyed bowling, Harry Potter, Frozen and Universal Studios. She participated in many sports in Special Olympics including bowling, bocce and volleyball. She lived a Christ-driven life and enjoyed singing and using sign language in the Victory Baptist and Berean Baptist choirs.
Celebration of life services will be held at Roberson Funeral Home, 2151 Tamiami Tr. in Port Charlotte, Florida, with visitation held from 2 to 3Pm, and service beginning at 3Pm, this Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Donations may be made in Kay’s name to Janet Jones group home at 1391 Capricorn Blvd, Punta Gorda, Florida 33983.
