Mr. Kieren J. (Corky) Corcoran, 61, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Tampa, Florida, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010, at his North Port residence.
Kieren was born June 16, 1948 in Buffalo, New York, to Robert F. and Lillian (nee – May) Corcoran. A veteran of the Vietnam War, U.S. Navy, Kieren, known to many as Corky, owned and operated Matco Tools for many years. A resident of the area since 1985, Kieren was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, and Knights of Columbus, Council 5399.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathy E. Corcoran, and four children; son, Kieren Shawn (Wendy) Corcoran of Atlanta, GA, and daughters, Tami (Gregg) Jobes of Cape Coral, FL, Tracy (Aaron) Bergacker of Bolingbrook, IL, and Amy (Juan) Velazquez of Lansing, MI; his mother, Lillian Corcoran of Miramar, FL; three sisters, Pat (Ron) Whittmyer of Orchard Park, NY, Roberta (Eric) Kaiser of Cape Cod, MA, and Janice Corcoran of Miramar, FL; six grandchildren, Billy, Madalyn, Ryan, Jack, Logan, and Gabriel; and several nieces and nephews.
