Kristin Grace Caliendo, 43, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, following a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on August 8, 1982, in Newark, New Jersey, Kristin was the daughter of Deanna J. Caliendo and Jerry Miele. She grew up in Lacey Township, New Jersey, and was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Kristin’s greatest passion was helping others. She was a mom to many, a sister to some, and a friend to everyone. Having experienced her own struggles, she found deep purpose in her work at Spring House, where she touched countless lives with her compassion, understanding, and willingness to listen without judgment. Kristin was one of the most selfless people you could ever meet, always putting the needs of others before her own and offering love, encouragement, and support to anyone who needed it. Many of the young women she mentored credit Kristin with helping them find hope, strength, and the courage to continue their recovery journeys. Her kindness, encouragement, and genuine care for others left an enduring impact that will never be forgotten.

Kristin is survived by her loving and devoted boyfriend of four years, Darlyn de Jesus Reyes Vargas, whose unwavering love and support remained by her side throughout her illness.

She is also survived by her children, Kayla Caliendo, Niko Caliendo, Malik Caliendo, and Jada Caliendo; her sisters, Danarae (Ralph) Billhardt and Celeste (Chris) DiSciullo; her nieces and nephews, Meagan (Russ) Pearce, Haley Billhardt, Julian DiSciullo and Elijah DiSciullo; her beloved dog, Sasha; and many friends whose lives were touched by her warmth, humor, and generous spirit.

Kristin loved being creative, always decorating, drawing, painting, and finding new hobbies. She was a phenomenal photographer, often taking photos of family and friends. Kristin loved her children and captured that love through her art. She had a gift for finding beauty in everyday moments and preserving memories that her loved ones will cherish forever.

Though her time here was far too short, the lives she touched and the hope she inspired will continue as her lasting legacy.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Kristin is now free from pain and at peace. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
