From the time Lenny was a little boy, he had a love of fishing. Tina shared his passion along with his friends, who all shared the same love of being on the water with the wind at their backs and the sun hitting their faces. Captains’ Freddy, Hogan, Steve Futch and Jason, all sharing stories of “the one that got away”. Leonard got his start in the culinary world at the Captain’s Club in Englewood, Florida. He was so intrigued that he decided to enroll in the Culinary Institute of America for formal training. During his career he was employed as a Chef at South Beach, Boca Grande, and served as executive Chef for Uncle Henry’s in Boca Grande. Lenny became known as a great Chef and cooked for many prestigious guests, including former President George W. Bush, Huey Lewis, Martha Stewart, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Nolan Ryan, just to name a few of many. When you were lucky enough for Lenny to prepare a meal for you, he chose a special server and developed a spectacular meal that might include oysters Rockefeller, fresh Calamari, Gator Bites, seared Tuna, steak au Poivre, or simply the catch of the day.
The Clymer family would like to acknowledge Andy, Chef Kevin and Jeff, as co-owners of the Temptations Restaurant, from where Lenny finally hung up his apron and retired from the kitchen in 2022. A special thank you to Chef Kevin and the staff for everything you’ve done in support of Lenny and for hosting his memorial.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Leonards name can be made to the Charlotte County Benvolent Fund CCEMS, Station #4 13600 Marathon Blvd, Gulf Cove, Florida 33981.
Lenny had a great love for his friends and family and never ended a phone call without asking if you had any new recipes, new cooking techniques or what you made for dinner. Lenny was a faithful believer who knew Jesus walked beside him and gave him strength and comfort during some of the most difficult times in his life. His favorite verse was John 3-16.
We will always remember him for his love for family, friends, fishing and cooking. The certainty of his faith in his savior, his tidiness, clean cars and windshields and the heart warming sound of his contagious giggle skipping across the water as he fishes the day away.
