Lester A. Haughton, 85, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the HCA Hospital in Port Charlote, Florida.

Born to Stanford and Emelita Haughton on February 25, 1939, in Jamaica West Indies, Lester was a hardworking man who cared deeply for his family.  He was a very kind and caring person who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to all who came into his life.

Lester was the life of any party.  You could hear his infectious laugh at get togethers, as he would tell the same jokes over and over again to all who were around him.  His life impacted and touched many people because of his kindness and helpful spirit.  His legacy will live on in the values he instilled in his son and grandchildren.  His influence is woven into who they are and will become.

We as a family are forever grateful for the time we spent with him.  His memory will forever be in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife Thelma, his son Byron, three granddaughters, three great grandchildren: three brothers, two sisters, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation and services will be held next Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Port Charlotte Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 2036 Loveland Blvd. in Port Charlotte. Visitation will from 10 am until time of services beginning at 11 am.  Committal with entombment to follow will also be on Tuesday at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery of Port Charlotte.
